Let’s Join Paws Staff Veteran Spotlight: Russ Peterson

Here at Let’s Join Paws, we celebrate more than just our furry friends. As Veterans’ Day approaches, we’d like to give a special thanks to all the men and women who have served in the Armed Forces. This week, we highlight Let’s Join Paws owner and dog lover, Russ Peterson.

All About Russ Peterson

Compassionate Dog Loverdog-lovers-russ-peterson

Russ is one of the loving dog owners with a huge furry family. He understands the benefits of owning a dog and shares his love with a whopping five dogs:

  • Ruby, a mixed-breed 9-year old
  • Jenny, an 8 year-old King Charles Cavalier
  • Buddy, a 10 year-old King Charles Cavalier
  • Mickey, a 10 year-old Chihuahua
  • Penny, a 2 year-old Chihuahua

Russ and his wife Cheryl founded Let’s Join Paws because they saw the need to create a community meant to connect caring people with dogs left alone while their owners were at work. He says the mission is to make “all lives more significant.”

Russ Peterson served in the United States Navy from 1970-1973. He served two Western Pacific tours during the Vietnam War. When asked what made him proud to be a part of the military, Russ answered, “I was proud to be able to serve our country and walk in the footsteps of those who valiantly served before me.”

Veterans selflessly serve our nation and support our freedoms. If you’re
looking to find more ways to show your appreciation to our service men and women, Russ says, “[Veterans] should be thanked for their service. They should be supported in gratitude and respect.”

Let’s Join Paws Supports Our Military

From the family here at Let’s Join Paws, we’d like to offer our sincerest thanks to all the men and women serving in
the military. And for those serving active duty right now, take Russ Peterson’s advice:

“You have many challenges ahead of you in this uncertain world. Worrying about your pet shouldn’t be on your radar. To help eliminate that worry, talk to organizations like Let’s Join Paws to help find a caregiver for your pup while you are serving overseas. Have peace of mind knowing that your pet is loved and cared for until you safely return.”
